Sheikh Hassan: Any questions?

Ibrahim: There was a question on YouTube. Someone had asked about doubts — doubts regarding faith — and wanted to know how he could remove them.

Sheikh Hassan: An English Person who was asking about doubts — how you can remove doubts …

Ibrahim: … doubts in faith …

Sheikh Hassan: Doubts in faith … I say to the brother or sister, who is asking the question (how you can remove doubts in faith), that in doubt – in German, you have the word Zweifel, this word contains the meaning of two.

Also, Shaytan is also called the Zwietrachtsäer (the sower of discord) in German language. There it is again, the two. Discord is the two (Zwietracht). And by that is also meant the enmity between two people — sowing discord. Two opinions. Everyone has an opinion and depending on their character, this then gives rise to enmity, and perhaps wars — all sorts of things that Shaytan stirs up.

And believing is one (Eintracht). It’s in oneness. It is about oneness. And Shaytan is that one who is giving doubts, and nourishing doubts. That is his task. He is trying believers with doubts about their own beliefs. And people generally, he is trying them, making doubts so big — not only in belief, but in everything — that they are asking themselves, finally: „Am I existing or not?“

They are completely driven mad by Shaytan. That is entirely Shaytan’s doing. It is his work, his task, for which he got permission from Allah Almighty to do for certain time. And it is a test for believers.

So don’t worry about doubts. You try to leave them and go back to your belief, whenever you can … and whenever you see this. The fact alone that you ask this question means that you are conscious. You have consciousness about that fact, that there is doubts sometimes.

If you know that, that is very good. if you don’t know, that is not good — it is difficult. But since you know, you can go back to your belief. And you ask Allah for help against Shaytan. You say: „Audhu billahi min ash-Shaytan ir-rajim”

You must not listen to doubts. If doubts are coming, that has no reality — there is no reality. It is only a suggestion from Shaytan. Because a belief is belief. Allah is the only One Who is existing, and there is no doubt about this.

It is said thousand times and ten thousand times in Holy Quran and in holy hadith. There is no doubt about this. About the Book — the Holy Quran — it is written so many times: „The Book — there is no doubt about it. The Revelation — there is no doubt about it.“

It is always written in Quran. So don’t worry about this, don’t think about it. If some funny, strange thoughts are coming, know, that they are from Shaytan — to try you. Nothing else. They have no reality. Shaytan has no reality; he has no reality. He is trying to get people away from reality – to his shaytanic world.

So, there is no need to worry. If doubts are coming leave it — forget it, leave it and continue on your way until it leaves you. It will leave you. Sometimes it’s coming, Shaytan is successful, and then you leave it, and it is going away. Through your belief, it goes away.

That is our way, and you have to keep the way. And if you keep the way, doubts will vanish — totally.

And there are doubts in all sorts of areas, and Shaytan is very successful in instilling doubts in Muslims — all around the world. They are unsure about this, unsure about that. Above all, when it comes to tariqat… regarding the tariqat, a sheikh, or a murshid, most of them agree that such things do not exist.

Shaytan has been very successful in convincing Muslims to say: „There’s no such thing as tariqat.“ If you ask about it here in Germany, in German mosques, at German gatherings, they say: „Tariqat? Nah.“

Shaytan managed to do that. He worked hard at it and used the finest monsters, the greatest Shaytans, and the greatest Dajals to achieve it.

In Turkey, he used a giant monster to make everything down. Muslims were asleep — those who should have stopped it — and he simply sent the caliphs away, in Turkey. And the caliphs were all members of the tariqat. It was totally normal; the whole Muslim world was part of tariqat. Oh Muslims, wake up. Why don’t you read some history for a change?

Can you not read? Or don’t you know what they’ve done? And there are thousands of examples, tens of thousands of examples — don’t you know that?

It’s just like with the Christians. They deny Islam. They say, „It never happened.“

In schools, they’re teaching that it never even existed — in history — the Ottoman Empire. Well, I’ve never heard of it. Perhaps a sentence or half a page in the history books about Islam. It simply didn’t exist. It doesn’t exist. They are deniers, rejecters, kafirs — they cover up the truth. They cover it up, make it invisible, so that you can’t see it.

Yes, we are speaking about tariqat. If you are in tariqat, you have no doubts. You have no doubts, because there is no doubt about it — about the murshid, about the tariqat — there is no doubt. It was normal … Before the end of the Ottoman Empire, in the whole Muslim world, it was clear, that there was tariqat. There were shuyukh, there were murshids, and they were guiding the people. There was no doubt.

And what about the sultans? They all either had a sheikh, or they were sheikhs and murshids themselves. And they nurtured it — the tariqat, the dhikr, the dergahs — endlessly and spread it all over the world. It existed from Turkey to Spain, throughout North Africa and as far as China on the other side. And it still exists today.

There are still quite a few. There are still dervish lodges, there are still spiritual guides, and there are still Sufi orders.

And now, among our Muslims, you can see so many who are saying: „Tariqat? No. What is this? Audhu billah …“ (Sheikh Hassan puts on a mocking face and raises his trembling hands above his head.)

They have no idea what tariqat is. Shaytan makes them totally crazy, totally ignorant. It is the time of ignorance. This time is called the second time of ignorance — asr thani min al-jahiliyyah.

It is a very bad time regarding ignorance. And they say: „What is tariqah? What are you doing? Why are you making dhikr?“

And then they say: „No, no, only Quran and sunnah.“

Of course, only Quran and sunnah. What else? But one hundred percent.

Our Sheikh, Grandsheikh Abdullah, was asked by ignorant people — Arab people, it was Arabs, mashallah — they were asking (Sheikh Hassan imitates a mocking tone): „Oh Sheikh, what is tariqa? What is it?“

And he said: „Tariqa is sharia azima.“

Sharia azima means one hundred percent sharia … one thousand percent sharia.

Are you doing one thousand percent sharia? (the Sheikh raises his eyebrows questioningly). And yet you are refusing tariqa?

Who are your guides? The doctors, the professors — who are very proud of having a professor’s title in a Western University in Islam. (Chuckles.)

No. (He shakes his head firmly.) No. We show you someone who is following sharia one hundert percent, twenty-four hours a day, every minute. You will not show me from that person one single minute where you can say: „This is not sunnah, what he is doing. This is not from Quran, what he is doing.“

In twenty-four hours, you will not show me one thing from that person. But he may show you that, in twenty-four hours, perhaps only one minute of what you do is s unnah — or maybe five minutes, or one hour altogether. All your prayers together — yes, it is sunnah, and it is fard, and you perform them. And you read Quran, and something …

But you don’t observe yourself — with what feelings you are doing this, how proud you are, how envious you are. How about your eighty thousand bad character traits? What about them? Do you leave them?

Islam is for cleaning. Islam is to perfect the character. The Prophet ﷺ said: „I came to perfect the character of human being.“

Yes, like this. That is important. If anyone is occupying with that, he will not have doubts. If he is occupying with tariqa, and Shaytan is attacking him, he may ask his Sheikh for help. His Sheikh is also a big helper – he helps you. You cannot do it alone.
