Transcription of the English part
We are here to celebrate Mawlid an-Nabi. The birth of Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, his birthday, is the one, which is most worthy to be celebrated of all — of the whole creation, of all creatures. There are some Shaytan people, they are saying, it is not. What do they say?
Some brother told me, in a mosque in Northern Germany there is some people, they are saying in the khutba, that it is haram, that it is shirk. But at home they are celebrating their own birthday. „Happy birthday“ — and they have candles and gifts. It is a pity for them, and it is a pity for anyone who believes them and follows them, because Shaytan is behind them. He is trying to keep people from the love of the Prophet ﷺ. Because when he was put in front of the Prophet, he said: „I don’t love you.“ He was hating him because of envy. This same thing, the same envy from Shaytan, is with people — with some of the people. They are guided by Shaytan, and they are trying to misguide Muslims.
They are trying to cheat us. They are saying, „Don’t do this and don’t do that.“ And we are doing! Alhamdulillah. We are gathering. That is a gift from Allah Almighty. And we are asking: Is there any gift or anything better — anything, whatever comes to your mind or whatever you can think of — is there anything better that happened to this creation, to this planet, to all the planets, and to this universe, and to 18,000 universes — and Allah knows how many universes? Is there any moment or anything better than when the physical light of Prophet ﷺ reached this creation? Anything better? No. No. No. There is nothing better. „But you should not celebrate,“ they are saying. There is nothing better. You cannot show me anything better.
And he ﷺ is Rahmatallil-Alamin, the mercy to all the worlds — all worlds, all universes. „But you should not celebrate,“ they are saying. Shaytan … look how Shaytan works. He is trying to prevent you, to make you afraid, saying: „It’s shirk. Shirk is the biggest sin. You must be careful. There is only Allah … and myself also …“ — they are saying.
Alhamdulillah, we are blessed. We are blessed with the truthful ones. We are blessed with the sadiqin, who are mentioned in the Holy Qur’an. And it is mentioned that you must be with them.
„Kunu ma Sadiqin.“
„Be with the truthful ones.“
(Qur’an, Surah 9:119)
It’s an order. It’s an order. You cannot say, „Yes, no, maybe no.“ — No, no. „Kunu ma Sadiqin.“ It’s an order. And they are with us. They are with us. Anyone who has an intention to be with them — they are with you. That is why we have a sheikh with us — a trustworthy one, a sadiq. He is a wali, a friend of God. That is very lucky. We are very lucky to do the right thing. You cannot know. You can study as much as you like — from books, at university, in the madrasa — and everything you may study. You will not know. You cannot know. You can only know through your murshid. You can reach Ilmu l-Yaqin, through your murshid — a knowledge which is certain, which makes you certain, opens your heart, gives you love for Prophet ﷺ, love for your Sheikh, love for brothers and sisters, love for creation, love for Allah — of course —, in the beginning and the end. It is coming only through your murshid, not through studying.
And you are saying: „Oh, my prayers. I pray so much, I do so much dhikr and I am so busy praising Allah, and I deserve this very much.“ You deserve nothing — from the beginning to the end. What have you done? Who brought you here? And you? Did you say, “Yes, I want to appear on this planet at such and such a time, and then I want to leave again at such and such a time — when I decide”?
No, nothing is in your decision. You only receive gifts — from beginning to end. Everything is a gift, Alhamdulillah. May Allah protect us and allow us to remain on this path, to honor, praise, and love the Prophet ﷺ. And to love and praise his way, his path, and to be allowed to remain on that path — upon the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. Our life is based upon this. May Allah preserve this for us, throughout our entire lives, in this world and in the eternal Hereafter, InshaAllah.
Al-Fatiha.
